Subject: Portland, ME: Senior Statistician and Analyst - Healthcare at Public Health Research Group, Inc.
Resumes are being solicited for the position of Senior Statistician
with healthcare analytic experience for a healthcare services company
with offices in northern New England and southern New Brunswick,
Canada.
Duties include:
- Member of senior management team, with direct report to President and Chief Operating
Officer.
- Create, evaluate, test, and support statistical models and data visualization exploration
tools for analyzing large healthcare claims datasets;
- Present recommendations to the sales and marketing team, including support at customer
meetings;
- Provide direct customer service as part of consulting and training engagements;
- Help build and manage a team of up to 20 statistical and data analytic professionals;
- Interface with the Data Management team on decisions for optimal structures for storing,
normalizing and manipulating huge quantities of health-related data;
The successful candidate will be highly experienced with leading statistical and data visualization/
analytic programs, preferably Stata and DataDesk, as well as being familiar with SAS and/or SPSS.
He/she will possess excellent problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience and background in:
- Healthcare industry (public or private sector) preferably at middle or senior level;
- Analyzing Medicare Part A/B, Medicaid databases or comparable comprehensive,
longitudinal health databases;
- Developing and/or applying methods for severity/risk-adjusting patients in hospital and
outpatient treatment settings;
- Graduate level degree in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, or econometrics (PhD
preferred but not absolute requirement)
- 5+ years experience analyzing health-related data in a commercial/private industry
environment.
