Job Description:
America Online, Inc. is in need for a System Data Architect in lead the overall data collection system of AOL to next big level. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in building a vision and delivering a foundation for a business and operational statistics of what we build at AOL. You will serves as an Architect driving innovation, working with different teams and organizations to make it happen.

This job requires the ability to understand business requirements, translate them into technical designs, deal with complexities of integration of disparate systems, investigate the quality of data in those systems and put it all together so it can be accessed, manipulated and turned into information.

The candidate

  1. define, architect and implement (code) data collection, processing and reporting architecture collaborating with different organizations.
  2. will collaborate with technical project staff within the organization as well as other groups/organizations to raise awareness about the quality of data and will work in a pro-active manner towards successful implementation of integration
  3. Exhibit strong knowledge of large databases, data warehousing environments and be familiar with full life cycle software development processes especially as they pertain to data movement, data aggregation and data integration.
  4. Develop standards and strategies to ensure data integrity
  5. Develop methods for identifying data sources.
  6. Develop and implement data collection methodologies
  7. Develop data management quality assurance standards and processes.
  8. Should have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of data integration operations in order to translate requests and business priorities to strategies and priorities
  9. Familiarity with a broad range of platforms from high to mid-range and personal computer technologies.
  10. Will be responsible for diagnosing severity of problems/discrepancies and lead in problem resolution.
  11. researches, presents and/or makes recommendations on technical issues and directions
  12. communicates and mentors all members of the software development team 13) Takes initiative to involve others and motivates by example.

Required Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must also have excellent analytical skills; presentation, human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be able to work with project managers to provide support.
  • Should have strong working knowledge in Data Quality and best practices and 10-12 years of professional experience in a large IT organization performing data analysis work and experience building large scalable systems.
  • Should also be proficient in Data warehousing and Data Analysis.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle and application program development alternatives.
  • Highly fluent in Java/J2EE, C/C++, SOAP, XML, HTTP and experience in Web applications.
  • Good project management skills are essential.
  • Should be a strong SQL user.
  • Should have a thorough understanding of relational databases, Variance Analysis and Data Modeling. Knowledge of web services, SOA a plus.
Desired Experience:
Ten to Twelve years of professional experience as a Data System Architect. Strong Conceptualization and evangelizing experience within a large complex environment highly desired.

Education:
Minimum undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent field
