To manage IC yield in the manufacturing process, Japanese DRAM giant Elpida Memory Inc. has deployed hundreds of software seats of dataPower software from PDF Solutions Inc. in all of its semiconductor fabrication plants in Hiroshima, Japan, according to the software vendor.

The dataPower software contains an integrated database for fast data access and alignment of data from multiple sources. The additional modules are meant to allow visualization, fast information summaries in graphical and statistical presentations, and drill-down from high-level output to detailed sub-plots, PDF said.

PDF said that Elpida is also using PDF’s dP-SSA, for yield and parametric signature analysis; dP-Mining, for multivariate data mining; dP-bitMap, for bitmap analysis; dP-Vue, for web-based reporting; and dP-Defect, for defect management.
