Primary Job Responsibilities:
As one of eBay's revenue-generating business units, PayPal's vision is to become the new global standard for online payments. Working within the Payments' FP&A Standard Analytics & Metrics group, this position will manage a small team responsible for the definition, design, delivery and management of PayPal's standard financial and analytical models and PayPal's analytical / metrics reporting. This position will work closely with PayPal's Information Management & Delivery group on the development of the next generation of PayPal's financial forecasting infrastructure and automation and will have focus on facilitating the removal of tool / automation related friction from the FP&A transaction revenue & costs planning process.

The candidate will be expected to:

  • provide thought-leadership related to the creation of new and/or improvement/streamlining of existing transaction revenue & costs planning models, tools, automation and reporting for PayPal's FP&A group
  • facilitate the communication / prioritization process within FP&A to achieve clarity on business requirements for new / additional functionality related PayPal's transaction revenue & costs planning models, tools, automation and reporting
  • provide leadership / cross-functional project management related to the development of planning models, tools, automation and reporting in conjunction with PayPal's Information Management & Delivery group
Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree minimum, in economics, finance, engineering, math, statistics, or computer science. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Must have outstanding academic credentials and a record of excellence and accomplishment
  • 5 - 8 years work experience in a relevant field (min. 3 yrs. in a people management role), within a high growth, technology / ecommerce or payments company with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience with complex, highly automated financial modeling, metrics / KPI reporting, financial analysis strongly preferred
  • Superior intellectual and quantitative analysis capabilities preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with multiple functional areas across the business
  • Outstanding leadership / project management skills, ability to influence cross-functionally in rapidly evolving business environment
  • Superb attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Advanced hands-on technical skills in Microsoft Excel / VBA with emphasis on financial models and automation; Candidate should be prepared to talk through prior Excel based financial or quantitative model samples upon interview
  • Advanced hands-on database skills (SQL) / data analytics skills, candidate must be proficient with SQL, be able to extract / analyze data from data warehouse, SQL Server databases, familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services a plus
  • Prior experience with ERP systems / development a definite plus
  • Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate high energy/creativity, a relentless customer-focus, and an entrepreneurial spirit
