The Department Intelligent Vision & Reasoning of Siemens Corporate Research has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist. In this position, the candidate will be conducting leading-edge research and development related to data analysis and modeling for medical and industrial applications.

Responsibilities of the position include investigation, prototyping, specification, development, implementation, optimization of algorithms and solutions. Areas of interest include applied machine learning, data mining, statistics and predictive modeling.

We will only consider candidates with a Ph.D. in CS, EE or related fields with a proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving and fast prototyping. Candidates should have C/C++ or Java proficiency on MS Windows platform. Experience in developing applications in a field such as machine monitoring and diagnosis, predictive maintenance, decision support systems, biomedical informatics, computer vision or text mining will be a big plus.

Candidates need to have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently on problems, be an effective team player and be willing to accept challenge and responsibility.
