Position Summary:
Develop and maintain various automated and semi-automated forecast models, manage the forecast process and produce store-SKU level periodic forecast for 5,000 stores and 10,000 SKUs to support assortment optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the forecast process: data preparation, model selection and calibration, and results monitoring
• Develop various forecast models
• Produce store-SKU level periodic forecast for 5,000 stores and 10,000 SKUs
• At SKU level, estimate overall market sales volume

• Broad and in-depth knowledge of current statistical forecasting and data mining techniques.
• Expert user of SAS data management and similar forecast modules
• Extensive experience with SAS programming.
• Knowledge and experience of handling unconventional forecast.
• Ability to apply mathematical modeling of various scientific phenomenon and human/social/business behaviors as needed to build accurate non-linear models to forecast DVD sales.
• Knowledge of database systems and SQL and experience with large data sets.
• Retail or CPG experience is desired.
• Master or Ph.D. in Statistics, Micro Economics, Biostatistics, Sociology and Epidemiology, and Applied Demography or related field.
