Subject: New York, NY, USA: Chief Scientist, Spatiotemporal Pattern Analysis at Maó Networks
Maó Networks is an intelligence company that uses real time and
historical geospatial data to model and predict consumer behavior,
company and sector performance.
We are seeking a top caliber data architect to help us build a large
scale spatiotemporal data mining and pattern analysis system. The
optimal candidate has a strong background in research over a broad
area of data mining ranging from information retrieval to pattern
recognition.
You must possess:
- A passion for datasets with millions and billions of observations
- Creativity to build something completely new and exciting
- Ability to hold your own with academic scientists at top institutions and leading practitioners from industry
- Desire to work at a small but well funded and rapidly growing company, including an equity stake
- Deep experience in either geospatial/spatiotemporal information retrieval, or geospatial pattern analysis
- An intuitive sense for data-insights with a clear process leading from data -> intuition -> conclusions
- Experience in two of the four following areas: design of experiments, feature extraction, data mining/analysis, information retrieval
- Ability to lead teams of researchers through a variety of problems: statistical analysis, data mining, parallel processing
- A great team-player attitude and exemplary communication skills
Experience we're interested in:
- Econometrics research and analysis
- Human-Computer Interaction research and application
We are also seeking lead programmers in this same space.
Both positions are in downtown Manhattan near NYU.
