Data Driven Applications (DDA) Group is a part of SDS and is chartered
to rapidly spread the power of data mining to business centers to help
generate brand and top-line growth by being able to target users with
personalized advertisements and content. DDA is looking for the
following positions immediately:
Data Mining Applications Engineer (Senior)
Job Responsibilities: Build accurate and scalable
recommendation models, deploy and test these models in production in
our recommendation platform, and upgrade them as necessary to deliver
reliable performance.
Specific challenges include analyzing and
developing, in partnership with business units, reliable and scalable
applications that integrate recommendation engine technologies into
the DNA of the business units by providing end-users targeted content
and/or advertisements
Essential Job Functions
- Assume ownership of recommendation engine modeling, delivery and maintenance
- Drive the model performance experimentation strategy and tune the models based on these tests.
- Develop extensible, scalable, reliable software for deployment.
- Interact with recommendation platform team to define interfaces and understand dependencies
- Write detailed technical documents of the models.
- Understand and affect the direction of recommendation engine modeling.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in Data Mining, Machine learning, information retrieval, model building, tuning, testing and interfaces, particularly in the area of recommendation systems.
- Good understanding of collaborative filtering, a-priori algorithm and time series modeling techniques.
- Experience working on systems used to provide customer relationship management or targeting functions
- Familiarity and experience in all phases of software development life cycle
- Structured thinker, effective communicator, team player with ability to work with dynamic teams
- Solid programming skills that includes significant experience with C++, PERL, and UNIX
- Proven understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming
- Experience with database access methodologies
- Integration Standards (XML-centric) experience
- Experience with Database access methodologies
- Ability to work in dynamic environment with different teams at different times
- BS in computer science or related field for engineering positions
Preferable Job Qualifications:
- MS/PhD in CS or related field
- Knowledge of/experience with Data mining and modeling methodologies/technologies
- Knowledge of/experience with XML Standards for Data Interchange
- Ability to translate technology to business problem solving
- Ability to articulate technology match to user experience
- Experience with technologies that help serve customers better - like CRM, SFA
