West Asset Management is currently seeking logical thinkers to help pioneer new territory for our Analytic Intelligence Group & Strategy Department. These high-level positions are responsible for improving operational performance by recommending business strategies based on expert data mining and analysis and implementing appropriate edits.

We are experience rapid growth and are looking to add multiple associates at each position with various levels of experiences from a wide variety of industries. Our compensation is competitive for appropriate based on experience.

Data Mining Analyst

Basic Function
Responsible for performing research and development on insurance services data to identify potential opportunities in the identification and recovery of overpaid claims in accordance with established policies and procedures; research and design the edit architecture for the Data Mining product; analyze client claim platforms and identify opportunities for effective edits

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, MIS, Psychology, or related field required.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Psychology, MIS, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
• Minimum two years experience in statistics, data mining, or direct marketing consulting required.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Required
• Knowledge of program languages (e.g., C++ C, etc.) preferred
• Knowledge of Databases (SQL, IBMDB2) preferred
• Knowledge of Statistical Software (SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Enterprise Guide, SPSS, etc.) preferred

Edit Analyst

Basic Function
Responsible for performing research and development on insurance services data to identify potential opportunities in the identification and recovery of overpaid claims in accordance with established policies and procedures; research and design the edit architecture for the Data Mining product; analyze client claim platforms and identify opportunities for effective edits

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in, MIS, computer science, business administration or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
• Minimum three years increasingly responsible programming experience using a standard coding language and/or platform required.
• Minimum three years experience in healthcare or insurance information technology (e.g., programming, database administration, etc.) preferred.
• Basic knowledge of various platforms and software (e.g., AS400, SAS, SPSS, SQL, etc.) required
