Subject: SAS news: Teragram, Teradata, and SAS 9.2

SAS, is hosting 3,000+ users at its annual SAS Global Forum in San Antonio, TX.

From the conference, we made three significant announcements which are available in this online press kit: http://www.sas.com/presscenter/sgf08/

1) SAS has just acquired Teragram, a leader in the field of Natural Language Processing, which helps make sense of text in 30 languages and helps add this "unstructured" data (from documents, emails, Web pages, call center notes and many other sources).

Customers can bring together all data -- structured and unstructured -- to analyze and ultimately, make better, more accurate and more timely business decisions.

2) SAS also announced the expansion of its partnership with Teradata.

Customers will be able to benefit from in-database analytics sooner, and SAS will prepackage its software on Teradata servers, giving customers powerful analytics from SAS and data warehousing from Teradata.

3) And in an announcement that doesn't have "Tera-" anywhere in it, SAS also rolled out the latest version of its core software, SAS 9.2.

Henry Morris, SVP for IDC's Worldwide Software and Services research groups, notes in the release: "With its enhanced analytics and data integration, improved deployment and management, and shared processes that help BI and analytics become even more widespread and useable throughout an organization, SAS 9.2 is a major launch for SAS and its customers."
