Customer information, socio-economic survey data, government census data, scientific research data, etc., normally consist of dozens of categorical and numerical variables. Often such data tend to contain noisy information as well. With conventional methods, thorough systematic analysis can be impossible, if the number of variables is large. StarProbe hotspot drills-down data systematically using machine learning techniques and detects important relationships, co-factors, interactions, dependencies and associations amongst many variables and values accurately, and generate profiles of most interesting segments. In conventional methods, this process is where statisticians would spend most of their time. Hotspot can do this job with just several mouse button clicks, more importantly, with greater accuracy than otherwise. In conventional methods, statisticians would analyze such data in a bottom-up fashion, examining each variable combinations one-by-one for a prolonged period time. Since hotspot does this process automatically, they can perform analysis in top-down fashion based on hotspot search results. This can greatly improve quality of data analysis.
