Atlanta, GA (June 8, 2010) - Webmedx, the third largest medical transcription service provider in the U.S. and a premier supplier of clinical documentation solutions, today announced that University of Kentucky Healthcare (UK HealthCare) in Lexington, Ky. has signed an agreement for the company's medical transcription services and QualityAnalytics™ data mining solution. Already implemented in two of the three UK HealthCare campuses, the organization is one of the first healthcare providers in the nation to fully utilize medical transcriptions' new capability: mining discrete data from a transcribed report.

"I had heard reference of data mining capabilities from other vendors, but this is the first time I've seen it in action," mentions Carol Steltenkamp, M.D., CMIO of UK HealthCare.

Webmedx creates customized queries and mines discrete, structured data from the physician's dictated, transcribed reports stored within their system. Termed Narradata™, the information is combined with data mined from the organization's EHR to meet core measures reporting requirements. At UK HealthCare, ejection fraction results for acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure patients will be the first Narradata element to be mined.
