Subject: Seattle Metropolitan area, WA: Software Design Engineer - Database Developer (168128) at Microsoft, MSN AdCenter

AdCenter is part of the Windows Live Platform Group focused on building the next generation of online advertising technologies. The challenge is to engineer a high performance, reliable, secure and scalable database architecture that can support huge data and transaction volumes.

We are looking for database developers with strong database architecture and design skills. Candidate should demonstrate expertise with T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, replication, SQL ETL and other advanced SQL features. Excellent performance analysis skills, including techniques for analyzing database applications and identifying bottlenecks, experience in understanding SQL Server query plans and estimates, optimizing indexes and queries, techniques to force query plans, leveraging horizontal and vertical partitioning is a must.

The team has an agile development environment with short release cycles and dynamic business requirements. Strong communication, design and planning skills are necessary to scope and plan development work in order to meet business objectives. The developer will be responsible for all aspects of product feature development including architecture, design, development and quality.

Qualifications:
Database design and development experience with large scale data warehouses or high throughput OLTP applications is required. At least 6-8 years of work related experience is required. Strong communication skills are preferred. Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field required. Candidates with advanced degrees are preferred.
