Wikiposit: a virtual amalgamation of data from many sources

325,118 Data Sets. Combine, Transform, Plot, Download, Share.

Wikiposit.org is a (virtual) amalgamation of (mostly financial) data from *many different sites*. The point of Wikiposit is to present all the data to the user as though it were in one database. This makes it easy for the user to:
  • find what they want
  • merge data sets from different sources
  • get data into a format that suites them and on to their own computer for analysis
For example, Wikiposit lets you grab oil prices published by the US Government (which they publish as an Excel file) and Gold prices as published by the Bundesbank (published as a text file) and quickly (a few seconds) merge the two data sets into a single data set that is clean, synchronized and downloadable in any format you might like. (see right here for that example.) As of now Wikiposit offers about 300,000 data sets.
