taught by top researchers Widom and Ng, courses on DB and machine learning will be offered for free in Fall of 2011. Students will get lecture videos, lecture notes, receive feedback on progress, answers to questions, and a statement of accomplishment upon successful completion.

In addition to a free online AI course, Stanford University is now offering similar courses for databases and machine learning, taught by first rate instructors and top researchers in the field, and they the same courses that Stanford students take. Upon successfully completion of class, students will also receive a statement of accomplishment.

"Introduction to Databases" (www.db-class.org), will run from October 10 through December 12, 2011. Taught by Professor Jennifer Widom, (Professor and Department Chair, Computer Science) the curriculum draws from Stanford's popular Introduction to Databases course.

"Machine Learning" (www.ml-class.org) online class runs from October 10 through December 16, 2011. Taught by Professor Andrew Ng, (Director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab), the curriculum draws from Stanford's popular Machine Learning course.
