May 5 extended to May 12, 2013
The Broadening Participation in Data Mining (BPDM) Program cultivates a talented and diverse population of data mining researchers by providing a venue for which students of underrepresented groups (URM) are exposed to technically rich content and guidance from senior researchers in industry, academia, and government. BPDM attendees will attend various panels and featured talks which will address common issues and advancements in Data Mining as well as participate in various networking breaks that will allow for continued discussions with mentors and peers.
This year, BPDM will be held just prior to KDD. To gain the most out of BPDM, the scholarship award will cover BPDM and KDD travel and lodging costs as well as KDD conference registration.
