The Data Science Camp for 2015 is at PayPal in North San Jose, October 24.

This is a great (almost free = $5) opportunity to learn about Data Science and connect with others. SF Bay ACM annual Data Science Camp combines keynote, optional tutorial, and sessions. You may submit your own session ideas or review proposed sessions on the Campsite.

The keynote will be "Spark for Data Science, Big and Small", given by Joseph Bradley, a Spark Committer working on MLlib at Databricks. The optional morning tutorial ($40) will be "Intro to R Mining of Big Data", by Joseph Rickert of Microsoft.

Sessions in past years included Deep Learning, Data Mining, PMML, Fraud Detection, Model Training, Big Data, R, Spark, Machine Learning, Career Opportunities, and more.

SF Bay ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) is the oldest and largest local professional chapter. ACM has many local professional and student chapters in the Bay Area, including Special Interest Groups in Data Science, Computer Graphics, Computer Human Interface, Artificial Intelligence, and Array Programming Language.
