Data Mining Competitions - Current

  • new Seventh Annual UCSD Data Mining Contest, with two classification tasks based on data from an e-commerce website. Submissions due: August 31, 2010.
  • new INFORMS Data Mining Contest, develop a model that predicts stock price movements at five minute intervals. Submission due: Oct 10, 2010.
  • new IEEE ICDM Contest, submissions due: Sep 6, 2010.
    The task is to predict city traffic based on measurements from Automatic Traffic Recorders or real-time notifications from in-car GPS navigators. Best solutions will be awarded with prizes worth 5,000 USD in total.
  • The Analytics X Prize, an ongoing contest to apply analytics, modeling, and statistics to solve the social problems that affect our cities.
