EURECOM: Faculty Position in Data Mining and Machine Learning

EURECOM, graduate school and a research center in communication systems, seeks qualified applicants interested in Big Data and Cloud computing for a tenured assistant professor position.

Position: Faculty Position in Data Mining and Machine Learning

The Networking and Security Department of EURECOM invites applications for a tenured position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Data Mining and Machine Learning.

The new faculty is expected to join the distributed systems group of the department and to extend the group’s current activities in the area of Big Data and Cloud computing, by developing research lines in both fundamental and applied machine learning, and by joining forces towards the design of computationally efficient and scalable approaches to real-life statistical learning problems.

Candidates with a proven track record of research in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:

  • Data Mining and Modeling,
  • Statistical Inference and Machine Learning,
  • Information Retrieval

While targeting practical application scenarios in his/her research, the new faculty is also expected to carry out fundamental research and to develop new Master and Ph.D. level courses in the aforementioned domains.

The candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer science or electrical engineering with a solid background in statistical methods for data analysis and modeling.
