Funded by the UK EPSRC and Ministry of Defence (MOD) Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL), this project focuses on the problem setting where coalition parties, each owning a large set of data, desire to discover new knowledge when they collaborate to jointly process all the datasets; while ensuring that each individual dataset is not revealed to the other parties.

The Research Associate is expected to investigate novel techniques for data mining even when data are in encrypted form. The behaviour of parties involved in performing joint data mining (who may misbehave or collude) will be analysed using a game theoretic framework. Techniques should also be designed to be adaptive to and efficient when coalition membership changes.

Applicants with a PhD in data mining, game theory, privacy preservation, cryptography or optimization are encouraged to apply.
