Why Are So Many Data Scientists Quitting Their Jobs?

It may have come a little late, but we're here to talk about March's top posts!

Over the course of March, KDnuggets readers read about why data scientists are quitting their jobs more than anything else. Why Are So Many Data Scientists Quitting Their Jobs?, written by Natassha Selvaraj, was the most popular post of the month. In this article, Natassha covers the two main reasons the data science field has such a high employee attrition rate. Want to know what they are? Head on over the article.

Natassha also wrote a pair of additional top-performing articles: 8 Free MIT Courses to Learn Data Science Online and Build a Machine Learning Web App in 5 Minutes. The first of these is a great overview of free courses from MIT, categorized as learning to code, statistics, foundational math skills, and machine learning. The second is a focused overview of a particularly-useful technical skill for data scientists: getting an ML app up and running quickly.

KDnuggets author Nisha Arya shared the following educational resource articles with readers last month: Best Data Science Books for Beginners and The Most Popular Intro to Programming Course From Harvard is Free! The titles don't leave much to the imagination; one of these will help you find some great books to help upskill, while the other presents and argues for CS50, the popular introductory Harvard computer science course. Nisha also wrote a very educational post explaining linear and logistic regression, letting newcomers know that just because 2 things share the same word in their title doesn't make them comparable.

Nate Rosidi has a knack for writing about what skills data scientists should have and how to acquire them, demonstrated last month with these 2 posts: Top 13 Skills That Every Data Scientist Should Have and 5 Data Science Projects to Learn 5 Critical Data Science Skills. First, Nate shows us what data science skills we need, and then he shows us how to build them. A great pair of complementary posts.

In order to ensure a level playing field, all March posts were compared based on the number of views of their first 14 days of publication.

And here they are, the top posts that were published on KDnuggets during the month of March 2022.
