The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the University of Paderborn offers a job as a research assistant in the field of analytical information systems and business intelligence. It is a 50% position (E-13) for two years. The possibility of further qualification / phd research is given.
The group Analytic Information Systems and Business Intelligence was founded in 2012. The main research involves algorithms and applications for structured prediction, recommender systems and big data.
Participation in the research of applications and algorithms for machine learning / data mining e.g. on topics such as predictive maintenance or recommender systems. Assistance in the organization and development of the business information systems curriculum.
A completed degree in computer science, business information systems or a similar field of study with strong computer science skills. Established knowledge in algorithms and methods of machine learning respectively data mining. Distinct programming skills in C++ or C# or Java or Julia. Good language skills in German and English in speech and writing (English is mandatory, German is a strong asset). Hands on experience with data mining e.g. by successful participation in data mining competitions is an advantage. We look forward to a outgoing personality who enjoys research and teamwork. Of the applicants will be expected that they are interested in pursuing for PhD.
